R and J Feeds

R & J Cattle Company Feed Division

Logistics

R & J Cattle Company delivers feed mostly in Central/Southern Missouri (mostly I-70 South), Eastern Oklahoma, Eastern Kansas, Northern Arkansas, Western Illinois, Southern Iowa, Western Tennessee and the Western part of Kentucky. We are slowly expanding into more areas as we gain more trucks to transport.

R & J feeds had trouble finding trucks in its first year of business we were forced to join with its sister company JDP Trucking to buy a semi and belt trailer itself. JDP trucking has expanded to over 10 trailers including Walking Floors, Belt trailers, End Dumps, and a few tankers. We do not own hoppers because the belts and end dumps can unload better than a hopper but without the swing auger. There is no better way to make sure feed is delivered on time then owning some trucks yourself to haul with. This also allows us to get in on more fire sells to ensure cheaper prices for our customers.

We figure out if we can deliver the feed cheaper with our trucks or if it’s cheaper to hire outside carriers depending on the origin of the ingredient. We ship ingredients from 11 states so you can imagine how hard the logistics can get. We must do this to insure the best price possible. One of our farthest hauls is 750 miles but we can deliver the feed cheaper than hauling the same ingredient 150 miles from another manufacturer.

We are always looking for owner operators to haul our freight, owner operators to pull our trailers or drivers to drive our trucks. If you have any interest in either of these feel free to contact us. We realize the key to being profitable in trucking is staying loaded so we haul both directions to minimize empty miles. Get in touch so we can start working together!
